The place I stayed at in Tokyo was
the Shinagawa Prince Hotel. It was a big hotel with several towers,
a movie theater, an IMAX theater, a bowling alley, etc., etc. I'm
sure there were cheaper places to stay, but it was part of my package
plan, so I didn't object. It was about a one minute walk from Shinagawa
train station, so it was pretty convenient.
|

Near the train station I took to Nikko was this sculpture on
top of a building.
|

It's called the Flame D'Or, or Golden Flame. Most people
find that name to be a little...smelly...
|

This little walking park was near the flame.
|

I also visited the Meiji Shrine again. These plaques all have
people's wishes on them and are prayed for every morning.
|

I love this tree inside the shrine

A couple was getting their wedding pictures taken

Sake donated to the shrine as offerings.

This is the inside of the Tokyo International Forum
|

The building was an ovular glass structure with amazing acoustics.

This statue was near one of the entrances

My visit home was great. The flight
went by without problems, and I didn't even have to remove my shoes
this time during the security checks! I spent the first few days
in Baltimore thanks to the hospitality of Meg. Most of my firneds
from university still live in the Baltimore area, so it was nice
to get a chance to visit them all. The picture to the left is of
Maggie and KC.

My friend Fawn is on the left, and her new husband is Ryan on
the far right.
