Pictures taken at the 2003 Tokyo Renewers Conference

June 2 - 6, 2003

During the keynote speech, volunteers were called up to do an exercise where they put a rubber band around their head and then tried to remove it simply by moving their facial muscles. I'm not sure what this was supposed to teach us, but it was hilarious watching Travis (the tallest one in the picture) try to do this.

We got a chance to celebrate Jason's birthday at a pizzeria.

On Wednesday afternoon, we went to the Nezu Fine Art Museum. It was full of artifacts, mainly dealing with Japanese tea ceremony. The big attractions, however, were the extravagant gardens and tea houses outside.

Thursday started with a visit to the Tokyo National Museum in Ueno Park and the Tokugawa Shogun Cemetary, followed by a visit to the Meiji Shrine and Iris Garden.
