Asahikawa Commercial High School Bazaar

High Schools in Japan traditionally hold a festival in the summer, as a chance to show off the school's club activities, achievements, etc. Asahikawa Commerical High, being a commercial high school, uses this festival as a chance for the students to apply the commerce and business principles they have learned to create shops and stores of all kinds. In addition to the stores, they also have displays and activities organized by their numerous clubs. Family and members of the community come to peruse the shops and enjoy the students' efforts.

The English club had English computer games on display, as well as English movies and videos to enjoy.

This year they decided to showcase the music of the 1980s. This poster is about Michael Jackson and the Jackson family.

This is the hallway. Shops were set up outside and in the students' classrooms.

Peace

Summer Vacation in Nikko and America

For my summer vacation this year I went to Tokyo for 3 days and then went to America for about two weeks. In Tokyo I spent a day in Nikko and the rest of the time seeing places in Tokyo I hadn't seen before. At home I spent a few days in Baltimore visiting university friends and then I went to my parent's house to spend some time with my family.

I took a lot of pictures in Nikko and at home, so I put them on a seperate picture page. Go to the Trip to Nikko and America 2004 pictures page to see them.
